Sports Camp Gift Exchange 31/12/07
Due to timing, our Sports Camp group gift exchange had to be held on the 29th, which is days after Christmas, but its damn cool! How so ... Check my post out... Pictures have to wait though.. .hahaha
Our Main characters, Danson and Kesh specially went to attend a "lesson" from Danson friend who is a chef (going to work in Meritus Mandarin Hotel). There he had prepared a menu that he wanted to cook for the whole group... Totally cool! Not forgetting Eugene who offered his place acting as the host for everyone of us.
I was able to meet them early after my tuition work and they had to prepare the dinner since 3pm... The main course, salad, dessert, soap... Totally professional... I a little lost on what to do, just spend time taking pictures of them preparing, helping out some simple chores, like peeling, washing... Well, i took them to research on how to get to Eugene's house though... His house is kinda out of the way in some sense... and its hard to describe how to get there since the area is mainly private estate. I had to search through streetdirectory.com (its a good site to find out how to go to places) and find out how to teach two girls (Crystal and Mei Qian) to come to his place.
In the end, i had to personally fetch them from the bus stop since there's a distance they have to walk to Eugene's condo. I picked up Crystal smoothly as she got off the right bus stop and i still managed to show her a very nice private estate near Walton street. But for Mei Qian, guess its was dark by the time she got here... She actually miscalculate the number of bus stops i told her to count and she went passed two bus stops over... haha... funny though,... when she was describing to me where she was from her hp... "Is it near some Singapore Hindi/dont know what Association..." Luckily, she asked the bus uncle and managed to get off quickly or else, she would have gone even further... So she had to walk back while i had to move forward to meet up with her... Luckily, I did not let Crystal to go down fetch her (when she volunteered to...) or else, two girls missing nowhere in Mountbatten Road would be funny !!!!
The gift exchange was great! Everyone seemed to be pleased with their respective gifts and in the end, we still took a group pictures of the gifts, surrounding Eugene's laptop as most of the gifts are related to the laptop in a way or another. Take mine for example, as seen from my previous blog, i got this eye massager from Mei Qian which is USB operated.
My gift was taken by Danson. I prepared a piggybank, bookmark, and my DIY cap.. hahaa.. .totally worth it to me... Jasper was hoping he got my present too lor... He was so envious when Danson got it and totally sian when he got Huss' present... Oh .. right... Huss made a special appearance thanks to Esther... Nice for him to come by and join our gathering...
By 10 plus, some of them had to go back home because of next day commitments while Me, Danson, Eugene, Jasper and Crystal decided to head to Mind Cafe ... whaahaha... We played there till 3am till the store close... Had lots of fun... playing those silly, brainless games... There's still plans to head there again next friday for more.... Can't wait man... oh... hoping for a ktv outing if possible.. it will be cool too... wahahaha...
Once i get pictures of this gathering.. i would post it... Yeah!

Full Battle Order 31/12/07
Oh... Look at that... ok.. i did this like 2 weeks ago... but anyway... This is my Full Battle Order (FBO) ... wahahaha... actually sian la... i got to prepare this in advance bcos sometime in Feb, there's a mobilisation that i have to go to and its a confirm thingy. Super sian! All the way to Kranji just to scan my card and go back home with these silly things and uniform. How dumb such army activity can be.. though its necessary...
I had to go and buy some of the army stuff that i lack and spent one night packing them. Ah!!!!! Why Why Why.... must we have to do this... why can't the world stay live in peace... Sickening...
Not only that, after the Feb Mob, there will be another one at the end of March, start of April...
Just hope all this silly army stuff do not disrupt my school work or project...

Christmas Presents 31/12/07
Pictures of my presents received this year for Christmas !
Though simple, but yet, cute, nice and interesting...
Got this from Jason during the poly gift exchange. Kinda irony, as i was pondering myself whether to buy this for the exchange too. Anyway, its from Mini Toons and its supposed to act like a fortune telling bottle where it could answer some personal questions... Havent really try it, well.. not sure how to too.. haha..
I like this. Got this from Berrie who bought this from Taiwan where she just went for her holiday. You Xin Le... Helpful for me and my grandma... hahaha... She thinks i'm old already... Bleh:)=
Another useful item from Mei Qian during my Sports Camp gift exchange. If you know it already, its a eye massager bought from Action City. Cute! Shall talk more in my Sports Camp gathering entry...

Christmas Eve 26/12/07
This year's christmas was simple... very simple...
Well, Jj still on clutches... so Tengfu and I thought.. hey why not just bring him out... meet up... since he have been at home for 2 weeks.. already... (a very rare thing to do when he is well)..
So we arranged to bring him from his home.... took a cab... to White Sands and head to coffee club for our usual talk cock session... We reached the place at 4pm...
Time went by as we stayed at the place... In the end, we decided to eat at there too... Gosh.... as time went on again... we decided to change location ... From Ya Kun to Macdonalds... By the end, we decided to head home... oh my.. it was 11pm... gosh.. was i shocked... this was a new record when we did this... our usual timing was just about 2 hours plus... never did i expect that we would spend 7 hours... just talking and chit chatting... Gay ah... with 2 other guys... haha..
Anyway... our usual topics... surround around the issues of studies, work, etc... What a way to spend a Christmas eve... Talking... keke...

End of Magical Christmas 24/12/07
In the end, it was considered a great success for Magical Christmas. Yesterday at the last day for the event, i was again doing flyer distribution. Being the last day, i did my best to give out all our flyers since after the event, they are considered waste.
The number of bags collected in the earlier part of the day was slow. As reported by Serene Tan, she was worried that we may not reach our target.
Just for info, our initial target was 600 over 3 days... but after the first two days, as according to Slyester, the manpower allocated by Red Cross is supposed to be for 250 bags per day. After 2 days of collection, we had around 480-490. Thus for the last day, they were aiming for a total of 750 bags.
By 2pm, the number was still around 580 bags. A little surprise by the number, i went down to check the situation myself. What i saw was instead full house at every station. It was crowded, but why the number was low was puzzling. So i tried to give assurance to Serene Tan, even if we do not hit the 750 target, we would definitely be close. I was confident of that.
In the later part, i was standing near the PS gantry giving out the flyers. There, i spent a lot more effort giving out, as time was ticking by. It was about an hour plus left before the end of the registration. There, also had a Prudential booth where the agents are doing their usual survey thingy. Luckily, they did not bother us.. keke.. one of them even went to donate blood. Kudos to them...
i managed to hand out all the flyers in the end. So for me, it was a personal mission accomplished. at 5pm, i simply walked around with Serene Toh, chit chatting. It was till then, we saw Karin! She really did come for the donation. We also get to see her bf.. haha... indeed a good body for a commando...
After seeing the doctor, luckily Karin could donate. When she was at the last station, i cheekily went into store and change into the blood buddy mascot. haha.. wanted to scare Karin...
Anyway, I was in it for a while... but managed to catch some ppl's attention while they are waiting for their turn. Some took the chance to take pictures with me..got one cute kid still came and kiss "me"... wahahaha... so Happy! When i went to Karin there... so easily, she guess it that it was me... so fast... No fun....
When i changed back, it was about her turn for the bleeding bed. I managed to get them both to sit together. Throughout the donation, she was nervous about it though it was her 2nd time. anyway... luckily, it was still considered smooth in the end, though the nurse had some trouble finding her vein intially. I managed to bandage her arm at the end too... Yeah!
Oh ya.. back to the number of bags... in the end, guess what... the final figure was 755 bags... well over our target... everyone was so happy especially Serene Tan... We then took our group picture... and began to clear out the area.
to me, beside the blood donation target, i hope this event have managed to spread the message around the importance of blood donation. I hope it is a platform to create awareness to the public...and to me, that's what the whole Magical Christmas is about...

Magical Christmas so far - 22/12/07
I had to be involved in the blood donation drive which was held at Dhoby ghout station control... Have been at there for the past 2 days...
For the 1st day, i was assigned to the Blood Buddy team... meaning i had to do the mascot and walk around... first time wearing such a big custome and i had to do all the waving, hand shaking... cute moves to entertain the public.. Think i wore it for a total about 2 hours ... We had to head into the trains and travel in it... from Dhoby Ghout to harbour front then back to Dhoby Ghout.... The mascot's head is really very big. In the train, i practically had to squeeze myself into the cabins. At times, when there are a lot of people, i could not move and had to simply stay put and wait till the next stop to reach before we get out ...
Being first time, initially, i did not really know i should do when im in it... i could not really imagine... soon, i got the hang of it and i just simply be MYSELF... i was jumping here and there... making funny moves around the station... my teamates still commented that im a super hyperactive mascot...
Maybe too active or fierce i dont know... at one point, i actually made 2 little kids cry... and they were both in the same cabin... Omg... and also i was bumped hard by a group of guys... they almost look as if they wanna rugby tackled me down... luckily i was alright...
anyway, today i was doing flyer distribution and i made my 6th donation...
Tml will be back to the blood buddy team again... More fooling around to do .. haha...

This is the poolside view of the resort that we stayed overnight at... Upfront is the beach... the waves there is a lot more stronger than the ones we see in Singapore.... Wow!
A photo taken during our trip route back to Singapore... It was definite a lot more easier than the previous day... But my Buttocks still HURTS!

Freak! Another ICT next June - 9/12/07
This is just great (ya, right.. ) Tml is my first ICT back to camp ... this first one have not even started, and i just got a call from Sim that we have another ICT again next june. FREAK! why are they so kan jiong... or simply im being in the wrong unit...
Again i cannot siam from it since it is during the holidays. Now, im hoping that it do not clash with any events that i hope i would be in... or else i would be cursing and swearing...
I am aiming to be part of the committee for a floorball major event which is held during the summer break and also hope to be a facilitator in one or two of the camps. Army better dont ruin my day man... it is so freaking irritating...
and the worst is .. i dont know what to pack for tml's ICT. No packing list, no nothing for us to refer to. There is a manning list... but how can a manning list be used as reference for ICT, it does not make sense... that we have to pack those standard packs for ICT. SUCKS!!!!!!!!!
The only consolation i can get from it is that at least i will be able to cover some of my 10 year cycle before i grad. i do not want to continue to go back when i am old in my late 30s or early 40s...

Desaru Bike Trip - 5/12/07
I just got back home not long from my Desaru bike trip cum crashing floorball camp.
Monday i was at the biking trip towards Desaru resort. We had to meet at Changi Village to collect our rental bikes. We had to take a long ferry boat ride... 45 mins towards malaysia... Having motion sickness, the thought of being in it for so long give me some fright man... was hoping that i dont get any ill effects. Luckily, i managed to control it and was still alright when we reached the other end. However, poor Lingyi who also have the same weakness did not. In the end, she had to puke at our pit stop during lunch.
Our first part is to travel around 20 km towards Ringgit. Here, it was a straight road but my first and main complaint was that the bike seat was very uncomfortable. My butt hurts a lot.. and it was only just a few km... we had a lot more to go ... Reaching Ringgit at afternoon, we had a simple lunch before setting off.
The later part of the journey was the xiong one... there were upslopes and downslopes and they were pretty steep. that was not it. Strong winds going against us, plus the hot sun.... the road towards Desaru was not easy. We took about 4 hours when we finally reached Desaru resort. By then, it was 6pm. Almost everyone was shacked over it.
For me, i even had cramps on my thighs... first time i had cramps on my thighs.... happen when i trying to overcome a long slope.
For dinner, we had barbacue buffet, where we had fried rice, kuay teow, satay, chicken wings... similar to those that i had when i was Brunei during army.... brought back some memories ... haha... though some of us felt it was not that good.
I managed to chat with a few people after that before the debriefing... and we went to one of the rooms to play some cards. Knowing that i had to have the rest, i pulled myself to bed at 11 plus.
By the first day, i already had my shoulders and neck sun burnt. So i was hoping that there would be no sun for the return trip. Luckily, God was on my side. It was cloudy and even a slight rain before we set off. The return trip was much easiler because of the more down slopes (it was up slopes on the first day) ... Our progress was fast and we managed to reach 1.5 hours in advance back to Ringgit for our lunch again.
By the time, we reached back to the jetty, it was just 2pm. When we got back to Singapore, it was 430pm. Then i was already comtemplating whether or not to crash into floorball camp for the training in the evening. I was thinking it through all the way till home. finally i decided to go. Of course, it was met with disagreement from mum... she wanted me to rest...
I managed to reach Valhall (at kallang) for the training. Training was tough given the fact that i just reached singapore just hours ago. But it was still manageable in the end and i learnt some more of the games tactics and rulings... I went to SMU with the others for the night.
By the time i got back home just now, it was already 1 plus... shack...
Later in the evening, i still have to go to hospital to visit JJ who is undergoing his ligament surgery.

Three papers to go 26/11/07
Today was the first of four exams before its officially holidays..
It was not too bad today, given the vagueness that topic is about. Had some difficulty in handling some of the questions but in the end still managed to answer all of them, though whether they are correct is another matter :)
three more to go! JIA YOU!!!

New way to study - 22/11/07
Today i came out a new way to study... well kind of...
I was totally sianed with studying for this coming exams. I must say it seems still manageable, but yet not so straight forward as 123.
Anyway, i was freaking sian to start study straight after my lunch. So this idea came to me.... why not study while travelling.... haha... yes.. meaning study in transport. After a bit of consideration, i decided to go with the crazy idea.
What i did was i took some of my notes from the subs and BGS text out. I thought since i have mrt concession, might as well use it. haha... so indeed 1 plus i left house.
What i did was i took from Eunos to Pasir Ris. From there all the way to Boon Lay. During the journey, i managed to glance through my BGS text and read through my AS notes. Not bad ah.... though it was a bit unconfortable. keke...
At Boon Lay, i walked a bit at Jurong Point. The crazy thing was i bought a soccer ball...was too attracted by the Addidas Liverpool soccer ball. I wanted to get one all along to be able to destress a little when at home. keke... so i have an extra thing to play with at home now. haa...
I took the journey back home from there and managed to reach at 5pm to see Yu Le Bai Fen Bai... keke... Crazy ah... But I like! wahahahahaha.... next time maybe can go around the north line, or to changi airport too :)
The ball that i bought today. Above is my floorball stick that i got over the weekend. Must borrow the floorballl too... so that i can play with it at home too! hahaha...

Sick ... Again.. - 19/11/07
Ok.. this time was not as bad as the last time when i had to go see a doctor.
But i practically slept 14 hours last night. From 9pm to 11am today...
even so, after lunch, i could not stick on my table any longer and went back to sleep for another 3 hours. And my flu/sorethroat/cough is only getting a bit better only.
Drank some herbal tea, pi pa gao in hope that i would get better. Now at 12am. got to go sleep soon. Tml morning have law class... Bleh!!!! Its kinda Anne's last lesson before law exams. Hope i can get in as much info i can tml.
And guess what, in the midst of typing this, i got a msg from my BMT friend who reminded me that ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!!! 19th nov. keke... that kinda brighten me a little...
Oh well, hope my upcoming 3-4 years of birthday would not be that sian as this. Busy for exams and worse, be sick too... :(

New guide - 16/11/07
What new guide?
Well, i was on my way to school when this guy just gave me a piece of paper and started talking to me. On the paper, was words that is discussing about the purpose of life.
They guy named, Eugene, started asking about what do I want to do in life. Now, After grad, After getting a job, After marrying... and then on. I could pick up what he was getting at. Soon, he relate back to christianity.
Whatever he said, I know and have been trying to answer it myself. That is what kind of life direction do i want to go. I told him that... that im still seeking this answer inside me, on what should i do... Should i just follow what others been doing, or seek something that will give me meaningfulness while working. Hard qn to answer, harder than projs, exams, interview... haha
Anyway, he said something new and made me see a new perspective. Does doing more good things than bad equate one person to be good? Well, i do not thiink so. Supppose one person were to do 99 bad things and 100 good things, it does not mean that he is thus good.
Another point he talked about is doing what one think i right. Yes, some people do things because others think is right, while others like me do things that i feel it is right, just and moral. However, what then is right? (that was his qn)... Now, that caught me a bit...
He go on to say that one must view himself as a total sinner, not a saint. Only then will we view the lord as a saviour. I guess that is true. We ought to do that, this way, whatever we do, we must seek the RIGHT WAY leaded by the lord.
Last point that i feel that he had the same thinking. Doing things that is really from the heart. The past him was a typical christian trying to live a standard christian life. Whatever he did, whether is it to offer help, he did it because he thinks that being a christian should help. He did not do it because his heart tells him to. This had creates a fakeness, though on the outside he indeed did something good. He said... to do things that is from the heart that is the true you. I do very much agree. Doing it from the heart not for any motive or purpose. but how many can be like that. I know i cant be like that for 100% of the time. That is how he linked back to the total sinner. We are definitely not a saint.
Before i left off to school, he told me that it is good that i have been thinking about this kind of stuff. But probably i could pray and seek answer from the lord and not just think it through on my own. another new perspective... How true... I think i must have left this point out all this while. It was good of him to give me another small pocket book of the chapter of John. And he reminded me to read it.
leaving off, i continue to walk towards school. after some distance, i looked to see if he had continue to talk to other people. ... but strange, i just could not see him there. It seems like he just walked off or he simply just disappeeared. Really... this really happen. and i was wearing my specs then, so it cant be of my poor eyesight. This made me wonder if they say "an angel" sent by the lord to enlighten me. Did not want to think much, so i just continue my way to school. Strange or not? Beats me... But im glad that i had stopped then...

One more Week past - 9/11/07
Oh, another week is coming to an end just like that. This week was much less taxing than the previous two weeks. However, again, most of my time is still at sch...
This week, most of the time was spent doing up my Acad essay and stats project.
Today quite pleased with my stats result. At least my hard work didnt go to waste.
This coming weekend, busy still... i'll be working ... other than that, meeting my poly friends for a meal ... they wanted to celebrate my birthday early... :)

Stage 1 of hell over! - 30/10/07
Finally just got the mid term stats test over. With that, up next is law and AS proj presentation that i got to prepare with my group mates this coming week.
Both presentation will be on the same day. So double the scipt, double the speech.
This time, what's difficult is the reading, interpretation and the answering of the respective assignments.
Though i think it should be easiler than what i did in BGS, it just aint gotta be that easy still. I still have a stats assignment meeting to bother with too in the midst of it. STATS AGAIN!!!

Start of a nightmare!
I just realised that this is the start of a sch nightmare...
no wonder, I was thinking sch was still manageable in the first period of the term.
Now that the assignments and projects are packing on one another, my time are all squeezed dry!
Today had a stats quiz, holding a 10%. I must say i manage to survive thru this. Managed to pass the test. Even so, I think i could have done better if i had been more careful.
Tomorrow is another obstacle, BGS proj presentation. Not comprehensively prepared for my group. With the constant changes, and obstacles we faced, we have done what we could do.
Even so, following that is non-stop chionging of projects and studying of test.
3 Weeks of home alone will pass by soon just like that. SUCK!

My First training at floorball.
Yesterday, i went for my first floorball training. It was kinda delayed till now, because of coach's injury from an accident. Upon her arrival, she was still in a limping situation.
I do not know how the previous coach training is like, but i must say, i kinda like her style of coaching. Doing the initial drills reminds me of my secondary sch training when i was in the basketball team. I can roughly see where her style and tactics are going towards from the way she conduct and teaches use during training.
My skills need a lot of brushing and improving. Of course being a novice in this area, expectation should not be high. But being highly competitive, I can stand to lose out during games. Having a soccer background, my playing tend to be fast and quick, trying to catch opponent unguarded. But floorball is a different ball game, with an extra stick at hand. My game play most of the time is too fast, leading to mispass or lost possession. Thus, this is one area i must look into first. Oh well.. Proj BGS and stats test is killing me for the moment. Hope i can go thru this period smoothly... JIA YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proj cock up
My BGS proj came to a obstacle, after my grp mates went to consult our Teacher Assistent. According to our TA, our proposed presentation lack depth and that we are not answering the qn. So our whole plan had to be revised.
Today, instead of shooting the video, we changed to rediscuss our outline and info that is needed to be add in. From a light hearted presentation, we had to compromise and for now, stick to a more formal presentation. Spent about 5-6 hours at library sorting out the stuff.
At the end of it, there is a clearer and better outline. Tml is another meet up, hopefully we can settle most of the stuff and work on the presentation.

Worser and worser each day - 21/10/07
Not me that its going worser each day... rather its my grandma...
She had this azhemier disease, and her memory is getting worse for her.
She cannot remember many of the things around her. Even her children, relatives, she could not recall at times. At home, she could not keep track of eating and bathing.
Because the maid had completed her 2 year contract and so my aunt let her return back to her country for 3 weeks. During this time, they arranged for my grandma to go to sengkand home to stay and let my mum take care of her.
Yesterday morning, Uncle Long came to fetch her. Because the others have not informed her about the arrangement, so she was puzzled and shocked to know that she have to leave house so early in the morning. I was awoken from my sleep and had to persaude her downstairs to the car.
Before leaving, I had to talk through her for a couple of minutes that she is going to her daughter's house. Through the conversation, suddenly i can feel a moment of sadness. She was showing unwillingness to go out and thru her speech i can sense that she was actully afraid. Downstairs, she even commented that we are selling her off... How an active grandma who once would scold and nag endlessly to me now be like that... Helpless like a kid.

Stats Proj
Today at Stats class...

for mini class quiz, it is only 3%... .this indeed good news to me... since i got a big fat 0 for my second quiz.
these low weightage has some conditions... that is a stats project...
WAT? stats also can have proj ah...

now presently, is BGS proj... tml got meeting... must come out something substantially... next sat is the presentation liao.. and still not much headway... the most jia lat one so far... God bless man...

Finally a Grade "A" - 17/10/07
haha...
today so happy... After the few assignments, mini quiz, essays... finally i have gotten something that i can be happy about.
Today in BGS, i gotten back my individual project assignment and take home test result, for the individual assignment, I got an A, while for the take home test, i managed 90 marks from it....
HAPPYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally this good result can compensate my 0 points gotten from my stats class mini quiz, a grade C for my first Acad writing essay. keke...
After class, went to meet up with Janice. Just found out that she was approach by Dolphin Warriors, a network marketing company that sells biomagnetic products. Worry about how the company work, i arranged to meet up with her to check out how is it going so far.
Managed to talk to her for an hour, and got to know a bit of DW. Gave her some advice and stories of my own when i was in this industy. Anyway, heard from her that its no obligation and no upfront fee needed, so at least she has nothing much to lose, except for wat she say is "tuition fee"- the transportation fee... It will be good in a sense that she will get to learn some new skills and hopefully open up as a person as it did for me during my time.
Heard tml she is going back down to DW to learn more about how the system is like, so hope to get info from her more to understand her situation, so as to give proper advice...

Kenneth "pit pit!!!"
Work at tuition centre.
Oh ... besides the take home test ass described below. Today, i went for my first day work at the tuition centre. Mentioned b4, my work there is mainly to mark the worksheet the kids do.
I must say the way the tuition works is quite efficient. Students will come and go very fast. Each staying at the centre for about half hour (from what i was told). Upon arrival, they would submit their homeowork and start with their classwork. While, i and a few others would start marking their homework and classwork when they are finished. Once all is done, they could actually go back home.
Me being the first time working there, I am a bit confused on how the system works there. So many children, so many markings to do, plus the fact that im not totally myself ( sick!), think i had my usual blur look through the 3 hour session.
Anyway, the next time im going there would most prob be 2 weeks time. I have been given a permanent sat time slot, so unless they need manpower on tues, that's the only time im working there.

Take Home Test.
One of a kind test... First time a test is take home and to be submitted 24hours later.
For my Business, Govt and Society, my prof decided to carry out a take home test, where he sent her the qn through email and we are to submit it back within 24hours. Just finished it not too long ago and have submitted in.
In this subject, we have gone through the topic of ethics, guess, this way of carrying out the test is one way to test our ethical behaviour. haha..
Oh well, the qn he gave is again quite vague as always.. had a hard time trying to figure out what exactly does he wants and within his word limit. Hope the answer i gave satisfy his criteria and his usual "elegant" requirement.

Sick!!!
One really ought to take care of themself. Sick is something not pleasant at all, even if its a minor one. Started with sore throat after coming back home from Sentosa on tuesday. The past 2 days have not been good. The coldness in the rooms plus the hot weather outside is not helping.
Sore throat lead to fly and fatigue... I could not do anything at all..
Today even had my final presentation for my Creative Thinking class and we had to sing a musical, plus i must be half naked at the end of the class presentation because of what we plan initially. Anyway, the presentation was very well-received by everyone in the class. They are all caught amused by the videos and impressed with our musical. thus the work done for the few weeks was well worth it.
Now, time to get some good rest, hopefully i can recover fast. Got so many work to do plus tml have a continuous 7 hour lesson for stats... Good Gracious!!!!

Sentosa Outing.
Today was a rare day other than fiesta and Sports group outing that i didnt do any school work.
finally found a nice time to meet Janice after our last meeting. Had agreed on sentosa.
So we took up a package that sentosa had and went around exploring the "attractions" it had. Took quite a bit of photos using her cameras, though initially we had trouble on what display function was the best one for the pictures.
I must say, the attractions are indeed expensive for the short time we are at each place. But hey, its the experience that counts... I had a nice time today, walking around the place with her.
Now, is waiting for the photos she have to upload.. haha..
Oh ya... before i went out today, managed to get a part time job from a education centre. Alright the job scope is kinda simple, cos all i had to do is to mark papers, as according to the lady i contacted with. She confirmed my work all by use of sms. Cool eh.. first time i got a job so easily and with the use of sms... haha.. anyway, work is on saturdays, in the late morning to early afternoon. Pay not much, but i guess its the first step for me to be involved in an education work area. Hope i can progress something from there...
Proj, essays are packing up soon again. So even though next week is break week, a lot of time would most prob be occupied again with sch work. But hey, like i said, balance is impt for me. So there are some meet ups, like with my buddies, ELW group mates, and hopefully janice too since she is still "free" for now till she found her new job. Prob have to find time to go back home too for dinner... mum been asking me when im going back liao... Time management is really crucial!

Monday's Law Test.
On monday, i had my first test since 3 odd years. Ever since my graduation from poly, this was the first time i had a test in school. Feeling i must say is different, though it can be quite nervous when the paper is starting.
I feel that now me... though grades are important to my CV, i would not make it my main priority that it forgoes other important things in my life. I would try as much to achieve the best as i could for test, essay, assignments and exams. But at the same time, i wanna get much more from this uni experience other than just A, A, A, A...
Floorball is starting competitive training soon. Met Say Wai on the way home. and had a talk on floorball with him. My heart is telling me to try it out, but somehow something is stopping me to commit immediately....

Perlyn's wedding dinner
Saturday was kinda special day.
First, it was one year aniversary of my ORD day. Yes, exactly one year ago, I was finally released from army. Next, was one of da jie in poly, Perlyn's wedding. She's the second among the class to be tied down. Seeing her so happy on saturday, im so glad for you and envious too that she have found a partner for life.
At the dinner, Xiao wei was there! And she brought her baby along too. Super cute! and very look like his father. The baby's almost been the centre of attention for the whole group of us. Indeed, baby can capture all adults' heart. They are able to add something special.

Sports Fiesta
Yesterday was the first day since sch that im at school but there's not studying, no classes, no project, no assignments.. haha... Only play, fun and laughter....
It was sports fiesta where i played floorball with my Sports Camp Group. We spilt up into 2 teams. My team lost out in the first round, but the other team managed to go all the way to semi-final only to get 4th place in the end. So close...
Anyway, along the way, because some of the members have to attend class, so our 2 teams are sort of combined together, helping in each others' game.
Anyway, its about having fun, the high spirits... Like what my msn nick states, staying positive is the key!
After that, went to Casey birthday celebration with Yee Huat and John. Had to go all the way to Yio Chu Kang where his uncle's condo is. There saw Roger, whose team won the first place for the floorball competition earlier on. Managed to have a nice chat with him about school life and stuff...
Anyway, for Casey's present, i did another DIY product. See below.. Certain meaning in the design.. but up to the individual to interpret. Would be posting it in my other blog link where i placed all my DIY portfolio. can check it there for my own meaning within this design.
Self Protrait... wahahakakaka

Laptop Bag Spoil!
Totally Suck ...
My laptop bag spoilt... spoilt in a sense that it cannt be zipped up.
The bag i bought had 2 zips initially when i can zip up in the middle allowing me to carry it at times using a handle. A week ago, one of it spoilt when i wanted to zip up.
Fine, so i tot there goes the use of handle. Then yesterday, the other gave away too.
Good.. Great... Now nothing left... And it cost 30 bucks... last me only a month... Kill me man!!

My grade - C
Suck man... my first grade for my first assignment was a C.
had this academic writing essay where we had to do a critique. Had a conference meeting with my prof today to go through the essay. Though she tried much to console the fact that C grade is consider avg and most ppl also got this grade, it just wasnt a good start man...
anyway, the positive part of it is that my essay is generally ok.. just that the direction needs to be more focused. I believe, or at least prof says so too that if the essay had addressed correctly, my grade would have been much better.
Oh well... continue to work hard to better this..
Somehow, i must always fail or do badly then i get pissed off and work harder for better grades..

Music Interactive Club
On wed, went to MIC for ktv session with crystal. She mentioned on sat that she was in it. so after some consideration, tot why not just check it out.
Was held in a seminar room and we had the freedom to choose our songs and just sing.
haha..
sung a few songs.. one with crystal together as duet. Sang the "I still believe" by Chao Ge and Vivian. Must say that it wasnt that well sung. A long time since i heard that song and a little pai se la.. hee.. hope to have chance to sing more together next time.. hee..
apparently, next week is a session where the exco members will share their tips towards better singing.. so hope to go if time permits..

School ... school... and more School ...
haha.. simply schoolistic..
what crap.. but ya.. its basically school everyday. Encounting how many days i have been to school consecutively. It should not been so long if not for the short trip to school last saturday. To date, its been 7 straight days in school since last wed. This coming week, im expected to be in school everyday, so that's a few more days to add. haha...
Anyway, today went down to my uncle's office to help out on some Bank reconciliation. Super chim... firstly, its my first time doing a real recon since my studies in TP. Second, being a MLM company, the accounts are even more confusing la.. OH...the point i wanted to say is... even though school been busy and quite tough at times. But when it comes to comparing to work, studies is still the superior option. Indeed true but not realised by many till they experience the real world...

Sports Group Outing
Today had a outing with my Sports Group outing. It was our second outing since the camp. Coming to 4th week of school, it can be considered the first time in a long while when i actully do no school work for a huge part of the day.
We met at NYDC for lunch, making use of the vouchers we had won during the camp. However, only 6 persons met up as the others could not make it due to cca, projects.
The food was ok ok... no really that fantastic. The desserts made up for it though. Love the mudpie !!!
Among us, crystal had a group meeting later in the evening, while Pris had to go for church at 4pm. After lunch, we walked a bit at Taka before deciding to head back to sch (yes!!! back to sch) for Frujich. However, it was closed when we got there. Crystal had to stay for her meeting so i along with Danson, Keshi went to Eugene house for a game of majong.
Luckily, we did not play any money. Being newbies to the game, Danson and I are not clear on the rules. In the end, the 2 newbies had different luck. I lost the most "chips" while Danson won the most. In 6 games, it was me who gave him the winning tile. Thus, on all occasions, i had to pay double. Totally suck man... haha..
Anyway, we played about 3 hours. After which we went to this restaurant, highly recommend by Eugene, Aston. The place was quite crowded when we got there and had to wait a while. I must say that the food there is not too bad at a reasonable price.
Anyway, i had a nice time today with the guys and gals.
But reality is cruel, i still have to rush through my other proj, including tml's meeting at school. hai...

Creative Thinking Class...
Creative thinking class was interesting. Yes, although most of the time Prof Kirpal did the talking. He did point out certain issues that are really contraversial.
He mentioned about abortion... Abortion rate in singapore which was reported in the papers that on avg, there are about 4+ abortions done per day in singpore. Hey, that's a high figure given that Singapore is trying to encourage birth. and God knows how many of suich abortions are from teenage girls. Even then, he gave a different perspective towards abortion. In our society, it is true that most ppl will have a bad impression and reactions once they come across such teenage women. An alternative thinking he gave is why cant we embrace life and accept that being pregnant is actully a beautiful thing to happen. Ultimately, it is a life that we are talking. But, then the cruelty of our society these days. It is hard for it to happen.
Another interesting stuff we did was when he had a friend, named David to come to class to share with us his experience. What he first told us to do was to each to use a paper to fold something for a flight test. Immediately, most of us started to fold paper aeroplanes. I was among one of them until i think differently. He told us to make something that can "fly" not to make paper aeroplanes. So to hell with it. i crushed the paper into a paper ball. And that was my flying object.. keke..

Student Life almost = to No life
Student life to me initially to me was to be much more interesting than working. Hey.. it still is. At least, it is not as monotonous as what work will give me.
However, once a term starts, besides school activities like Floorball, or Red cross, everyday the mind seems to be bothered by either projects or readings, or homework to do. It doesnt help that i still took up a extra marketing competition.
With no relationship partner, it may seem good for one not to have any external problem, but then again, it just doesnt add any spice to life too right? Oh well, life is full of contradictions...
Now as i type, Im at school, going to meet up with my friend to rush up our marketing project as the deadline is just a few days away. Got to complete this man.. !

Death Into Life
What an interesting title ! This was the title that my Creative Thinking Prof, Kirpal Singh gave us to do in today's class... What's more it was given at the last 20 mins of the class, surprising almost all of the students..
But hey, to me, its totally cool man! I totally like his style.. Of course come to think of it, its quite dangerous, considering that the short essay we had to do was our individual assignment which constitues to 15% weightage.
Anyway, I start writing straight away... talking about how death and alive can contradict with the way we live. How humans who are alive seems dead by the way we act and behave, while others would rather be dead so as to feel alive... Chim??? haha..
What would you write? Yes, YOU... the reader who is reading my post... wahahahahah!

Sch + Bash Day...
Today at Creative Thinking class was not too bad in the end. Finally, our group finalised on doing this "excuse me, are you normal ? " project. Prof finally gave us a topic for us to discuss and talk about between us, breaking the usual "only he talking in class" procedure.
After sch, went back to sengkang first to rest and see family.
At night, it was Freshmen Bash. Had to meet my FTB group mates. From 14, it was down to 6. Sihui managed to join us later, but she and Jia yin had to leave early. Magdalene had her friends with her leaving me, Kailing, Lingyi and Dom. Oh well, we still had some fun dancing, going toilet upteen times... hehe..
Left about 130am when they all wanted to go home to sleep. Wanted to meet up with the ELW ppl, but girls like Faith, Serene Tan, and Si Miao didnt even come in the first place. Jeremy left early, while Serene Toh and Karin were with their own grp of friends. So when my FTB guys decided to go back, i follow suit.
Suck , tml still have class. Luckily, its in the noon. But then, after that will be going for gym and the red cross interview. Oh well... its another end of the week. This is damn fast... how time in school pass by...

Creative Thinking...
Oh gosh.. my first hundle so far..
in the late afternoon, i had a meeting with my group mates for my Creative thinking module.
We had to think of an idea/concept for our Group project and present it to prof tml. Over the weekend, we were supposed to think of a few ideas and present it together during the meeting.
I tot the meeting wouldnt last that long, and that me booking 3 hours were quite extreme. Guess what, it turns out otherwise. We spent the whole 3 hours in the room... with not much headway. Yes, indeed, there were ideas generated, but there was no one great idea that all was in consensus. Gosh, 3 long hours and still no conclusion. and tml is the presentation of the idea.
And i tot Creative thinking was one of the easilest module to do...

No particulat topic
Yes, nothing in particular, just wanna type something in here..
tue was a no sch day for me since i dont have class. Spent the afternoon doing my AS homework, thanking all who have helped me in my Capitaland marketing survey, and trying to explore this website threadless.com as well as reading my book a 2nd time.
Oh well, suddenly have the feeling of what's exactly does human want in life?
Often, we say and do things that always contradict each other, making people ard you confused on what exactly do we want.
Be it career, love life, family, goals... at times, we think we have it, but then again is it? At times, we think we should go for it, but yet have doubts and back off last min. At times, we think that we have got the right one, but yet people say its a wrong choice. So what's right? What's wrong? What's exactly do we or I want? Ponder***
Life's suppose to be simple... But it ain't simple. Guess it was never meant to be simple...

At times, we think that we have got the right one, but yet people say its a wrong choice. So what's right? What's wrong? What's exactly do we or I want? Ponder***
Life's suppose to be simple... But it ain't simple. Guess it was never meant to be simple...

CCA Day
Yesterday school had this CCA day event held at Concourse. Its where all the CCAs in SMU set up booths, promoting and recruting new members to their club. As soon as class finished, I along with Lingyi and Rebecca went down to meet our FTB grp mates to collect our tickets from Sihui.
We walked from one end to the other end, combing every booth that was along our path. I myself sign up for 4 different clubs. Red Cross, Rock Climb, Floorball, and Roteract. Still, among them, my priority would be Red Cross, followed by floorball. Magical Christmas preparation would be starting, so I would involve in Red Cross more. Floorball is a way for me to exercise regularly. Anyway, some others in my FTB grp like Lingyi, Kailing, and Yvonne signed a lot... And i mean a lot... think Lingyi sign as many as 9 clubs.. total MADNEsS!

First Week of School...
Finally sch has started. Went through most of the lessons already except for Stats which i will be taking tml.
life at Uni is one level up than when i was in Poly. All classes are different. Groups are formed randomly on your own, and basically with ppl you dont know at all. Stress? Well, I dont feel it now, but slowly but surely it will creep onto me when things pile up fast.
Readings, Discussions, Brainstorming, and meetups.. .All this are part and parcel of life in SMU. I have to get used to this kinda of life fast man...
Still, everything's fine for me for now... Pray and hope it runs smoothly as i slowly take up CCA activities.
GOD Bless ME !!!

HobbyLovers
I happen to came across this group of youngsters who wanted to find crafters like me to supply them with stuff to sell on behalf for us.
Upon that, i thought why not since my caps have been at home for ages, untouched. Today, i managed to pass them my things after a few months of liasing. They will hold the stall at Lime market this coming Saturday 26th.
I set the prices for the caps at a very low price, just hoping to recover my costs. Hope it sells on saturday...
