Time Waits for No One - 19/06/08

Interesting and Meaningful story...

Many years ago, i bought a house on the resale market. The previous owners had lived there for the past twenty years. They moved in when they got married. For us, it was the time when my younger son had just been born, and we bought it because we wanted to provide two lively boys with a lawn to run around. When i was cleaning out of the rooms, I found a wedding photograph of the Tsai couple, the previous owners, stacked in a corner of the master bedroom. I contacted them to come and retrieve their photograph.

When we met, i teased them for leaving their precious photograph behind. Mrs tsai smiled back and said:" Its funny, ever since we got it back from the photo studio, it had been placed in that corner. We wanted to put it up over the bed when we have the time, never did we think twenty years would pass by and it would still be there in the corner" At this, we all laughed out loud together. As they left, i still called after them:" this time, remember to hang that on the wall in your new house."

My mother often said to me, " Time waits for no one!" She would tell me:" three years can go by in the blink of an eye. A lifetime could be like three blinks; your life could all be spent with nothing at all save the white hairs to show for it." So i constantly remind myself to cherish the present. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is undecided. Only today is what we have in hand. Tomorrow will have its beginning in today. How we fare tomorrow is bring determined from today. So ask yourself what sort of future you really want.

My eldest brother was an artist. All his peers held their art exhibitions. They also urged him to hold one. Each time he would decline, saying " My paintings are just not good enough! Wait till I can do them better," Once, while i was back Taiwan and his classmates had just held their exhibitions, I urged him:" Big brother, you are their equal. What are you waiting for? Until your are too old?" He said:" relax, I will hold a really great one man show when i reach 70." Alas, my eldest brother died at the age of 66 years. Last november when it would have been his 70th birthday, his old classmates came together and held for him the "Mr Lee Wen Ya Memorial Art Exhibition" It was a great show. But he was no longer around to see it.

The 3 golden rules of "DON'T WAIT"
When u have the need, DON'T WAIT
When u have the vision, DON'T WAIT
When u have the passion, DON'T WAIT

For this simple reason-" Time waits for no one"

A new lesson learnt, but same all together - 13/06/08

Recently, i managed to come to know of a guy who have since taught me, or rather refresh my memory towards thinking hard on my life direction.

Met up a few times for a good talk and chat. Personally, i find him a nice guy, a person who is sincere. However, as my feelings and suspicions grew along with my former exposure, it was still back to the same old thing again. All about MLM/Network Marketing and etc... His "office" let the cat out of the bag. Through searching in internet, i found my answer!

I did told him that i don't think that MLM do not work, but rather it is the people in it that makes it bad. MLM needs people to work, but it is the same people that makes it fall.

I still have his books with me that i have not read it yet. I believe they are helpful to me, i would find time to read it soon. and prob meet him up to pass him back.

Then... Back to my life direction, i have to really rethink/refocus or rather i have not found the answer after this few years of asking and trying and answering myself. Slowly but surely.. hopefully in the near future so that i can really focus and work towards it.

Definition of Happiness - 03/06/08

Had a chance to know this guy recently. He is actually a NUS alumini from the entrepuenuership Club and he was trying to ask people to sign up for the workshop.

Managed to arrange time to meet him for a chat. We were talking when this issue of happiness came about. I remembered he said that he heard a famous writer saying that happiness is obtained once every small little goals are achieved along the way towards a bigger goal.

Thought of it afterwards about it.
Does Happiness come from these small little goals? does it count for external sources?
I was thinking doesnt happiness come from within instead? Meaning u start to be happy by being happy... and not happy only when ppl or circumstances made u happy.

Whatever it is... Happiness can be vague too. People may think that they are happy with a lot of money... they may think they are happy with many friends... or simply happy by seeing the people around them happy. So question we must ask today may be are we happy today? Are we doing the right things... thinking the right way to be happy....

Busy Busy Busy - 01/06/08

Still have been busy since my last blog post.

Had another 1 day outdoor camp, back to army camp for my medical refresher training, my continuous floorball training and headache settling many logistics stuff for my floorball.

tonight for the first time had the rare chance to see a concert! wow!
My bro was lucky to win a pair of tickets to Zhang Dong Liang 's concert, so together went to see it.

His singing was fantastic i must say. for the good of 2 plus hours heard some of his main songs from his past albums.
