LTB interesting, Datelines ! - 26/01/07

LTB has been a pleasant journey so far. What i fear most did not happen. Hiccups and problems with the project was expected. What i fear most initially was the people in the group. I fear selfish people, Strong headed people, TOO dominant people in the group...

But what comes is a bunch of very nice people who produces loads of ideas, enthusiasm and zest!

Just did a rough overview on the various datelines i have for this term. And found that it is more or less evenly spread out. BUT it meant, every week i would different things to worry about. From a test, to project report, to the many presentations i have to make this term.

Irritated by a food court staff - 26/01/07

It happened a few days ago when i had my dinner at Raffles City Food Juntion. I wanted to order something from the Western Food stall.

What happen was there was a staff there who ignored the orders by the customers and went off to make his personal calls. This is in spite there's only another staff left only. Poor her, she had to do all the food by herself, while that irritating guy just went off to make his call. And his expression tells it all... that HE DON'T GIVE A DAMN !

Super pissed... and pity to the poor lady staff..

Its heating up! 20/1/08

Come to the end of 2nd week of school, and as expected, things start to heat up in many areas.

This term is evenly balanced with theortical subjects and practical projects.
Hiccups is happening little by little, but its still within my expectation. Still, these tasks be it school or personal life, is breathing down my neck at times..

Pondering what could be my next step after uni life... till now, i still have no concrete answer to it. Working at Kumon for a couple of months already, Ms Yong, my supervisor made a comment a few days ago that its kinda rare that guys like to teach these days... i guess its my action during work that made her say that comment. Work at Kumon is easy. All we had to do is just to mark the kids' papers, unless u go a step further in guiding them in areas u feel they need help. Yes, some guys do teach tuition during their undergrad days because of living.. but indeed i like teaching kids even though i havent start any private tuition at all and i work also bcos of money.

Anyway, long long to go for this term, but yet it seems there isnt enough time for everything. Still, the same belief i have kept myself last term. That is to think positive, relaz whenever i can, and know that everything will be fine.

One out of 15 weeks gone! 11/01/07

One week of school have passed by just like that.

Met the Profs, classmates, new group mates and the modules that i have to face this sem.

All in all, still not too bad (still as always.. look on the bright side... ) Looking forward to the challeges that i would have to face... like

1) Leadership and Teambuilding : How to conduct a Community Service Project on our own, create and retain team dynamics, grow as a team player and leader.

2)Technological and World Change: How to overcome my shortcoming over IT knowledge and upcomings... How to understand the relationship IT has with the business world and the changes that happen to us everyday.

3) Management Comm: How to properly improve my all round communication skills, be it verbal, non-verbal etc...

4) Financial Accounting: How to make use of my past knowledge of accounting to my advantage and not the pressure of doing well get to me.

5) Management Science: How to understand what this module is trying to teach us first. Till then, its careful listening and attentive in class.

Oh... i did a brave thing yesterday by dropping my Management Science class and rebidding it on another time slot. The one that i originally bided... i know practically no one except for James. During the 1st class, somehow i feel kinda lost and alone... just dont feel right...

James then said that he may consider rebidding the morning class. It was then i took that consideration too since i know like at least 3 friends from the morning class. So, after some careful analysis and discussion with james, we decided to do it.

I dropped it, and even bid at a price lower than the previous one. and we had a bit of confidence that we should get the seats. Daring ? i dont know.. but i think its rare for a year 1 student to do that... haha...

Time flies and it really flies in a blink of an eye!

2007 gone, now we are already in 2008!
School have started after a month of break.... Break, or did i really had a proper break... Oh well... if without my reservist, red cross commitment, i would prob have a better one i guess...

Anyway, start of sch, and im not sure whether or not to be happy or not.... Happy to be back in school, a student lifestyle... but not so glad that it will be more loads of work to do again for the next 3 months... ok... i have rather adapt to the SMU life already and have been steadying trying to improve on my time and people management... well i hope so..

Good luck to myself! Embrace it with courage rather than reject it with fear...
To those who are reading this too.... :)

From bad to worse 5/1/07

School is opening soon. But that's not the problem now.

Yesterday after coming back home, i got to know from mum that grandma had a fall at home sometime in the afternoon when i was out. By the time i was back, it was already close to 9pm.

I went straight into her room to check up on her. Goodness, she was lying there on the bed, with her left arm unable to move at all. Upon further check, i noticed a huge bruise around the inner arm area and knew that wasnt good at all. Hurriedly, i went to call mum , Auntie Mary, and soon Uncle Long to inform them about the matter.

Aunt Roseline came over to see, while in the meantime, i went to take out my triangle bandages to immobilise her arm. When Aunt Roseline came, she decided to call the ambulance.

By the time, we were at hospital, it was close to 10pm already. And its the second time i get to sit in an ambulance since the time i was with them for attachment for my medic course. Knowing that would take sometime, i had to contact my supervisor at the tuition centre that i could not work the next day.

The whole waiting time took about 4 hours. In the end, they found out that she had a fracture on her left humerous (arm), but was able to be discharged immediately. By the time, we got home, it was closed to 2am in the morning. Even so, grandma still didnt want to sleep, so I had to accompany her at the living room trying ways to get her to go to bed.

She finally wanted to sleep at 3am... Slowly getting her to lie down the bed, i took my turn for my own rest. However, i had to wake up about 2 times more during the night when i heard her voice. Checking up on her and going back to sleep, i only woke up at 11am when Aunt Mary came to see her again.

Still, it is not over, in the afternoon today when Aunt Mary wanted to bring her to the kitchen for lunch, suddenly she just blackout, hitting her hand hard on the table, eyes rolled over. It took about 15 seconds and when i got to her, i took her fake teeth out. Slowly, she regained consciousness. We then came to know later that she almost nearly choke herself by her own phelgm. I had heard before old people choking themselves similarly, never did i know it will happen to my own grandma.

My Aunt as precaution called our family doctor here to check on her. Her parameters were fine and the simple check cost $60 just like that. All the time, she kept "vomitting" out her phelgm. I had to go out for a while to collect the Mp3 for Kenny. By the time i was back, she felt better and Uncle Richard and Aunt June came too and even got a better sling bandage for her arm.

Like what some people would say, once you have reached till a certain age, you better pray you do not fall down, or else, you never know what kind of complication it will create from it.

SMU Jersey 2/1/08

Just now, i went to RP for the first time to catch the girls team play floorball match against SIM for their IVP tourament. At the same time, also i could collect the jersey that i have ordered together with the whole team.

Surprisely, my first choice number of "6" was not taken up by any of the seniors before me. There were priority given to them. I was still hoping that i dont get my "00" that i put for my third choice ... haha....

No "6" is special to me in some way. I remembered my basketball team jersey with i was in Ngee Ann Sec team was also no. 6 so i put it as my first choice.

Oh, i did not make it to the IVP team this time. Im still new to the game and there's quite a competition for places in the guys' team. Still, this jersey would be used when we are in Div 2. next year.

Anyway, today's match for the girls' did not went well. We lost to SIM 2-4 in the end. Pity considering that we had more chances than the other team. But still in the game, it is the score that counts. This is the first time i saw the girls' team coach. Heard about him before about his tactics, and through today on his handling of the girls' team. I do not quite follow or agree with his style. But hey, i have not much authority to say much too... Hope they would improve more on their next few matches.

Right, tml is the guys' team match. Too bad, i could not make it because of the farewell dinner with Tengfu and guys. Good luck Guys!

A04 Christmas Gift Exchange Photos 2/1/08

Got these pictures of me and my poly mates during our short christmas gift exchange.
We were at PS when i left halfway from my Red Cross commitments...
An almost full group missing Perlyn and Terence. A rare sight !!!
All our presents gathered together! Time to give it out!
Below are some interesting gifts some received...
starting with...

Say Wai! This is part of the present, but its so interesting. Its a eh... kinda urinal bottle.. the ones the patients used in hospital. He got this from Berrie, who bought this in Taiwan. So cool! or is it.. .haha...

Rose got this cool present from Say Wai. Its DIY clock where she have to fix the internal parts herself and its totally transparent. Nice, cute!

This is one of the no so creative presents given by Sze Mei... who else... haha... Luckily at least Berrie got it, not a guy... Would not know what would any of us guys would react if we received it... hahah...

Huili got this watch given by MEiling. Remembered I, Huili and Berrie still chose this present for her cos its unisex so its suitable for anyone to receive it. haha.. .in the end, it went back to one of us.

Ok.. the gathering had a special guest - the cutey baby... Our Da Jie's baby. A rare outing since she have become a mum. And this boy is quite active i must say. Look at how tough Sze Mei had handling him. I was sitting at the other end, so did not get to play with him much..

Look! the cutey is just eyeing the cake only la...

Xiao Wei with her kid...

I went over and give a try to carry him. Guess what, he accepts me ! wahahaha... hey, im good with kids one. No worries....

And i managed to catch this nice photo with him. Thanks to Meiling, who have taken my position of catching people's photos by surprise liao ah... keke...

Last picture of the cute one!
