From bad to worse 5/1/07

School is opening soon. But that's not the problem now.

Yesterday after coming back home, i got to know from mum that grandma had a fall at home sometime in the afternoon when i was out. By the time i was back, it was already close to 9pm.

I went straight into her room to check up on her. Goodness, she was lying there on the bed, with her left arm unable to move at all. Upon further check, i noticed a huge bruise around the inner arm area and knew that wasnt good at all. Hurriedly, i went to call mum , Auntie Mary, and soon Uncle Long to inform them about the matter.

Aunt Roseline came over to see, while in the meantime, i went to take out my triangle bandages to immobilise her arm. When Aunt Roseline came, she decided to call the ambulance.

By the time, we were at hospital, it was close to 10pm already. And its the second time i get to sit in an ambulance since the time i was with them for attachment for my medic course. Knowing that would take sometime, i had to contact my supervisor at the tuition centre that i could not work the next day.

The whole waiting time took about 4 hours. In the end, they found out that she had a fracture on her left humerous (arm), but was able to be discharged immediately. By the time, we got home, it was closed to 2am in the morning. Even so, grandma still didnt want to sleep, so I had to accompany her at the living room trying ways to get her to go to bed.

She finally wanted to sleep at 3am... Slowly getting her to lie down the bed, i took my turn for my own rest. However, i had to wake up about 2 times more during the night when i heard her voice. Checking up on her and going back to sleep, i only woke up at 11am when Aunt Mary came to see her again.

Still, it is not over, in the afternoon today when Aunt Mary wanted to bring her to the kitchen for lunch, suddenly she just blackout, hitting her hand hard on the table, eyes rolled over. It took about 15 seconds and when i got to her, i took her fake teeth out. Slowly, she regained consciousness. We then came to know later that she almost nearly choke herself by her own phelgm. I had heard before old people choking themselves similarly, never did i know it will happen to my own grandma.

My Aunt as precaution called our family doctor here to check on her. Her parameters were fine and the simple check cost $60 just like that. All the time, she kept "vomitting" out her phelgm. I had to go out for a while to collect the Mp3 for Kenny. By the time i was back, she felt better and Uncle Richard and Aunt June came too and even got a better sling bandage for her arm.

Like what some people would say, once you have reached till a certain age, you better pray you do not fall down, or else, you never know what kind of complication it will create from it.
