Interesting Phrase

Interesting Phrase

I come upon this interesting phrase from an email sent from my friend....

"If you look at what you do not have in life, you don't have anything"
"If you look at what you have in life, you have everything"

One needs to look beyond the phrase to understand what it means...
of course, it differs from individuals....
So what do i see from the phrase... ... is Human Nature, Satisfaction, Contentment, Fulfilment
How do I say so???

Human Nature :
It is human nature to compare, to improve, to achieve... It can be obviously seen from the revolution of men through generations, through decade and centuries. We, human have sought to continuously improve our lives. It is through us humans that we have come to what and who we are today. Who would have think that we could close up communication by the use of internet? Who would have think we could close up distance of vast lands with the use of airplanes and trains? These are not even existence many centuries ago when human do not even know whether the earth is flat or round. It is down to humans that seek to "have" what they "do not have" that leads to this simple reasoning. Definitely, this is something positive to take in....

Satisfaction / Contentment :
From the phrase, it said that one will have everything if he looks to what he has with him. This states how much human is contented with himself, with what he has, with what he has achieve. Of course, the negetive to contentment is greed, which is also very much a part of human nature.

It is exactly that humans sought to always improve in themselves that there are many examples in which greed take hold of their minds. One very classic examples is definitely have to be Hitler who aims of achieving more lands under his hold. He is obviously not one that is easily contented. Or else, he would have thought on how to improve on his own country and not to conquer neighbouring lands.

Then again, too much of a contentment is also not healthy. If all human race are so contented in their lives that they dont aim for higher heights, then i dont think we will have what we have today. Who knows, we might be doing hunting of animals, or farming at our back of our small hut...

Fulfilment :
Ultimately, what i see is how one person deem himself that his life has been fully fulfilled. As time goes by, thinking of the human mind differs from one generation to another. At this era, many seek to achieve life fulfillment, in order that they have lived a worthwhile. But how many are able to say 100% that they are able to... i doubt so... Even i myself, have been continuously been asking myself this...

Definitely, this word fulfillment have a close relation with the phrase. How it relates to a person and how he interpret the phrase, i guess this word fulfilment has a strong impact on it.

So what's yours interpretation? a piece of crap sentence or something that alightens you?
